Blender addon for 5.0+ for resampling cylindrical mesh topology:

Adjust the vertex count of cylindrical edge loops while preserving the overall shape. Cylinder Resample rebuilds rings with a consistent resolution along straight or curved tubes, reducing artifacts from uneven topology.

Usage

Cylinder Resample add-on

  • Ctrl + ECylinder Resample (Edit Mode)
  • Select edge loops/rings that define the cylindrical section
  • Set the desired vertex count and confirm

Works on straight cylinders as well as bent pipes (multi-segment elbows, S-curves).

Features

  • resample cylindrical loops to a target vertex count
  • preserves overall shape and radius along the tube
  • stable ring alignment across curved sections (minimizes twisting)
  • rebuilds clean, evenly spaced topology
  • supports continuous selections across multiple connected rings
  • attempts to maintain shading consistency where possible
  • works only with quads and with cylindrical objects being separate mesh element

Important:

  • May produce incorrect results on low-poly or irregular cylinders. Works best with evenly spaced quads and clean, circular edge loops
  • Breaks UV

Installation:

Download py file then install it in Blender Preferences → Addons
