RefBoard - Personal Reference Library

What it does

RefBoard is a local-first reference board - think Pinterest or ArtStation boards, but private, offline, and built for artists. You pick a folder on your disk as your library, and everything stays there. No cloud, no accounts, no subscriptions.

Collecting references

• Import images from your disk (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, BMP, SVG) via button or drag & drop
• Paste images directly from clipboard with Ctrl+V - images copied from websites automatically store the source URL so you can find them again
• GIF files are supported and play in the preview

Organizing

• Create collections and sub-collections with custom colors, arranged in a sidebar tree
• Drag & drop to reorder or move collections into each other
• Tag any image - click a tag to instantly filter across all collections
• Mark images as Favorites - accessible from a dedicated sidebar section or as a filter within any collection
• Add notes to any image

Browsing

• Grid view with a column slider (1–8 columns, from large tiles to dense mosaic)
• Collage view - natural proportions, waterfall layout, same column slider
• List view with thumbnail, name, and tags
• Click any image to open a full preview with zoom (scroll wheel) and pan (hold left mouse button)

Extras

• Merge selected images into a single collage JPG/PNG with configurable columns and cell size
• Find duplicate images across your library (MD5 hash comparison)
• Library statistics - image count, tag usage, total size
• Copy any image to clipboard (Ctrl+C) for pasting into Photoshop, PureRef etc.
